Skin Discoloration
KTP laser, V-Beam laser, Fractional CO2 laser
Skin discoloration (dyschromia) can be the result of birth marks, trauma, sun damage, age, or a combination of these factors.
Red dyschromia is the result of superficial blood vessels, which can be quickly and easily reduced or eliminated with the KTP and V-beam lasers. They target the red colour of blood to heat and cauterize the blood vessels from the inside, leaving surrounding tissues undamaged. These same lasers can also target the brown colour in flat or raised moles (like solar lentigo or seborrheic keratosis), resulting in quick and effective removal with very low risk of causing lightening of the skin.
A medical assessment is always part of your visit to the De Pieri Clinic, so if a skin discoloration is suspected to be cancerous, you can received MSP-covered treatment for biopsy, excision, or prompt referral to a plastic surgeon.
