Softening of Scars
Scars, acne lesions, and stretch marks can be softened and diminished non-invasively, using one or a combination of the following: Microdermabrasion, a newer technique called Carbossi Therapy, or Pulsed Dye Laser (PDL).
Microdermabrasion sloughs off the skin's outer layer, exposing a fresh layer of smooth skin. It uses a suction tipped wand with fine diamond grit to clear pores and exfoliate the skin. This leaves the skin feeling fresh and rejuvenated. Microdermabrasion can be done as a stand alone treatment, or to prepare skin for chemical peels or laser procedures.
Carbossi therapy breaks down and stretches the collagen bonds in a scar that tethers it to the skin. These collagen bonds cause the scar's indented appearance, so Carbossi actually improves scar appearance right from the first treatment. Carbossi also improves blood flow and oxygen levels in the skin, promoting healing.
Pulsed Dye Laser is used to target large blood vessels in scars to reduce discoloration, making them appear closer in colour to the surrounding skin.
CO2 Fractional Laser can completely resurface your skin, or give you a light laser peel while reducing wrinkles, stimulating collagen, tightening skin, and reducing sun damage. This laser has approximagely seven to ten days down time depending on the treatment.
